Yellowish opening screen, love it! I love the type font too.

Luke surely still has his own charm.

"Tony Stark, the big blonde dude with the hammer, the old dude with the shield, the green monster, and I don't mean Fenway. You can't get better raw footage of the incident anywhere else than right here."
— So much names drop. Love it!

Uh. These kids just made a huge mistake. I have a feeling that it may lead to Pope Barbershop shoot.

Misty Knight! She is damn good!

"You stand out in any room you're in."
— Can't agree more, Luke!

I, kind of, "like" this guy. He is so cool.

"Yo. I don't like your tone."

"We want to hire you."
— I know what you did there, Ma'am! Nice touch for an easter egg.
Luke Cage and Iron Fist are known as Hero for Hire in comics. That's what I heard from comicbooks geek in YouTube.

"I'm not for hire."

And that glorious hoodie made his debut in this show!

Verdict
I really love this first episode. There's a lot of great moments. And the tone, those guys at Collider were right, it offers something new in this universe, and I'm, so far, impressed with what they're trying to do.
Having his own show makes Luke Cage have more freedom to show the other side of himself. Although he is physically unbreakable, he is no different from Matt or Jessica. He has his own problem, inner problem. In his case is to find a good reason to be a hero.
I love the introduction to villain and other supporting characters. Goosh, there's so much to love about this episode. Suicide Squad once tried to put a lot of music into this superhero genre show, but for me that's just an excuse for poor storytelling. What happened with this show is, at least in its first episode, the music really fits and in some way helps the storytelling to move smoothly.
The point is, I really enjoyed my time watching this episode. It literally made me smile happily and be wow-ed for the entire episode.
